west Linn Waterfront Project

The City of West Linn is creating a master plan for the Old City Hall District, the Industrial Heritage District, and the Pond Redevelopment District.  Redevelopment opportunities are being explored and will include an increase in future mixed-use development (development that blends two or more commercial, residential, cultural, institutional, and/or industrial uses) along the West Linn shoreline.

I-205 Improvements Stafford Road to OR 213 Project

I-205 Improvements Project includes widening I-205 and the Abernethy Bridge to add a third lane in each direction and creating an earthquake-ready corridor from Stafford Road to OR 213. ODOT originally considered adding walking and biking facilities to the Abernethy Bridge but it was determined unfeasible because:

  • The added facilities would cost more than a separate walking and biking bridge due to complexity in the design and construction.

  • Walking, biking and rolling so close to freeway traffic would create an uncomfortable user experience.

  • Attaching walking, biking, and rolling facilities under the bride would create navigation clearance issues.

  • An I-205 bridge pathway would create out of direction trips for people travelling between West Linn and Oregon City.

Willamette Falls Drive Concept Plan

The Willamette Falls Drive project includes sidewalks, separated bike facilities, enhanced landscaping and decorative street lighting. A cycle track and sidewalk connecting Willamette Falls Drive and Sunset Avenue to West A Street and a multi-use path connecting the Historic Arch Bridge to planned improvements along OR43 will create a comfortable route from western West Linn neighborhoods to the bridge.
